There was one Indochinese tiger left in China, and thanks to a villager who killed and ate the tiger, the species is now extinct throughout China. The villager who committed the extinction deed was then sentenced to 12 years in prison and fined $85,000 by the Chinese government. The villager claimed it was self-defense.
